The Deeside Cello Project (now a registered charity) has grown out of the Aboyne Cello Festival Summer School which has built a wonderful reputation as a supportive, inspiring and nurturing environment, essential for musicians striving for excellence.  The summer school is attended by students from all over the UK and abroad, as well as helping the development of Aberdeenshire cellists of all ages.

If you or your business would like to assist the DCP with a financial donation or with ‘in kind’ support or volunteer with us, you can make a donation or ‘contact us’ and we will be very happy to hear from you.

Many thanks to our generous supporters for 2024 and 2025:

The David & June Gordon Memorial Trust for their support of this year’s Young Artist award. David and June were remarkable for the way they encouraged creative young people in all branches of the arts. The David Gordon Trust was formed in 1975 with the aim of providing funds for the continuation of the work started by the late 4th Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair, David Gordon. He, together with his wife June, had an abiding interest in music, the arts, charitable youth groups and in the continuation of the ecumenical services in the chapel of Haddo House in Aberdeenshire. Following the death of June Gordon in 2009, the Trust was renamed The David and June Gordon Memorial Trust. Visit www.haddoarts.com to find out more about Haddo Arts Festival 12th – 15th September 2024.

We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Eilidh’s Trust which will be used for summer school bursaries for students in need. Eilidh’s Trust is a charity in memory of Eilidh MacLeod to support music education for children and young people. Since the tragic loss of fourteen-year-old Eilidh at the Manchester Arena on 22nd May 2017 her family have set out to ensure her legacy of fun, friendship and love of music lives on for others. Visit www.eilidhstrust.org.uk to find out how you can fundraise for them and support their valuable work.

Many thanks to our generous supporters for 2023:
